RHS Releases New LS7 Cylinder Heads

Friday, December 10th, 2010

RHS® is introducing the latest addition to their brand new line of LS application cylinder heads

This is the aftermarket’s only high performance LS7 head with a raised intake runner design specifically engineered to accommodate production and aftermarket LS7 intake manifolds and valve train setups. The 12° valve angle (flatter piston to valve angle) and unique .220″ raised intake runners provide a better line of sight into the cylinders and allow for an improved short turn. In addition, the custom CNC-machined runners optimize volume, atomization and velocity.

The 355T6 aerospace-grade aluminum alloy heads also feature the popular LS 6-bolt head design that makes them compatible with both the RHS® LS Race and GM LSX Blocks. This design also increases clamping capacity to improve cylinder head gasket retention on high horsepower and boosted applications. All of this, with the addition of a .750″ thick deck surface, increases the integrity in high cylinder pressure applications.

A reinforced solid rocker rail with extra bolts was engineered for shaft mount rockers to provide increased rigidity and valve train stability, while the raised .400″ valve cover rails provide clearance for aftermarket rocker systems. And finally, the raised runner and rolled valve angle increase overall flow capability. These features, coupled with an improved water jacket design, make this an ideal head for both small and large cubic inch, hardcore street applications.

  • 12° Valve angle & .220″ raised intake runner over stock LS7 provide better line of sight into cylinders and short turn
100% CNC-machined runners optimize volume, atomization & velocity
355T6 Aerospace-grade aluminum is lightweight and increases cylinder head life as well as strength
Popular 6-bolt head design increases clamping capacity for improved head gasket retention on high horsepower & boosted applications
Compatible with popular RHS® LS Race & GM LSX Blocks
.750″ Thick deck surface improves integrity in high cylinder pressure applications
.400″ Raised rail allows for use with aftermarket rockers; .100″ raised exhaust port allows use of both stock & aftermarket manifolds
Improved overall flow capabilities & water jacket design
Can be used in both small & large cubic inch, hardcore street application

We will have more information on these heads as it becomes available. Watch for CNC Ported Packages coming Soon!!!!

Comp Cams adds new 15W50 Break in oil to their product line

COMP Cams® 15W50 Engine Break-In Oil

Performance leader adds new 15W50 lubricant designed specifically for use by professional engine builders during break-in of new and rebuilt engines With the current government regulations, today’s oils are missing many of the critical ingredients needed for engine protection. Engine builders and performance hobbyists are being forced to add extra protection additives in order to maintain engine safety and performance – but not anymore.

Engineers at COMP Cams® and Endure Performance Lubricants™ have expanded their line of automotive lubricants to include 15W50, as well as the original 10W30, weight oils. Both popular weights are ZDDP-fortified to provide maximum protection during initial break-in. Heavily tested and proven by the COMP Cams® R&D team, these advanced lubricants deliver maximum engine life. They do so by improving the surface mating of valve train components (especially flat tappets), rotating assembly, rod journals, piston rings, valve guides and other vital areas of the engine. The proprietary formulas of both the 15W50 and 10W30 oils include optimum amounts of critical additives ZDDP (Zinc & Phosphorus), Molybdenum, detergents and high grade base oil.

The mineral-based COMP Cams® Engine Break-In Oils are fully-formulated and require no additives or supplements. In addition, both popular weights are fully compatible with gasoline, methanol and high octane racing fuels.
